Terms for following the work.

These terms set the boundaries for using PublicTide, a creator-owned publication platform operated by Aculeus.

Effective 4 October 2026

The service

PublicTide presents creator-owned publications, Topics, Morning Briefs, Cases, and attributed research summaries. Automatically generated summaries can contain errors; check the linked sources and creator context. Sources and creator attribution remain part of the reading record.

Creators, subscriptions, and payment

Creators own their masthead, editorial choices, subscriber relationship, and payment relationship. Subscription offers, prices, billing, cancellation, and delivery terms belong to the creator or the destination they identify. PublicTide does not create a subscription merely because you sign in.

Acceptable use

Use the service lawfully and do not attempt to bypass access controls, impersonate another person, interfere with the service, scrape private or rate-limited surfaces, submit credentials or malicious code, or use requests for a closer look to misrepresent evidence.

Who can have an account

You must be 13 or older to create a PublicTide account. When you create one, PublicTide asks for your month and year of birth, uses them once to check your age, and keeps only an age range. PublicTide does not create an account for anyone under 13.

Rules for creator work

These rules apply to every work a creator publishes or imports on PublicTide: writing, audio, video, shows, episodes and clips. A reader can report a work or a publication for breaking one of them.

  • Copyright. Uses someone else's work without permission, beyond fair use for commentary, criticism or news reporting.
  • Harassment or hate. Abuses, threatens or demeans a person or group.
  • Sexual content. Sexually explicit material.
  • Child safety. Sexualizes, exploits or endangers a minor.
  • Violence. Threatens or incites violence, or shows graphic violence without a news purpose.
  • Illegal content. Content or activity that breaks the law.
  • Impersonation. Pretends to be another person or organization.
  • Private information. Publishes someone's private details, such as a home address, without consent.
  • Spam. Spam, scams or deceptive links.

Using someone else's work for commentary, criticism or news reporting can be fair use. A disputed claim of fact is not a rule violation: the creator's corrections handle it, and PublicTide does not judge what is true.

Reports, reviews and removals

A person at PublicTide reviews every report. Nothing is removed automatically. If a work breaks a rule, PublicTide can remove it: the work is unpublished, its media stops playing, and its address says it was removed. The creator sees the removal and the reason in the Studio and can respond once, with an appeal or, for a copyright removal, a counter-notice. A removed work stays unpublished until PublicTide lifts the removal. The creator never sees who sent a report.

Copyright and repeat infringers

PublicTide responds to copyright notices that meet the law's requirements. PublicTide ends, in appropriate circumstances, the access of creators who repeatedly infringe: three copyright removals in 365 days open a review of the creator's access to the publication.

Uploads and imports

When you upload media or import work from a channel you connect, you confirm that you have the rights to publish it on PublicTide. Uploaded and imported work follows the same rules as everything else you publish. An import never publishes anything until you confirm it.

Notices to creators

PublicTide tells creators about a removal, and what they can do about it, inside the Studio. PublicTide does not send, post or notify anything on a creator's behalf without their say.

Sources and rights

Source material belongs to its respective rights holders. Do not copy or redistribute material beyond the rights you have. PublicTide’s presentation, code, and marks remain protected by applicable rights. A source link is not a license.

Access and contact

Access may be limited or unavailable when the service, a creator publication, or a source is unavailable, restricted, or being maintained. Contact jeremy@aculeus.ai with questions, access concerns, or rights requests.

Nothing here waives a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be waived. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent allowed by law.
